Stainless Steel Matte Finish with Laser burnished Damascus Steel pattern on both sides. Text is overlayed over image.

Our matte dogtags are made of mil-spec 304 grade (non-magnetic) stainless steel and are left with a dull finish so that you cannot see a reflection in the tag.

This tag is not actually made of Damascus Steel, rather the feathered Damascus-steel pattern is burnished onto both sides of the tag.

The laser-burnishing process polishes the dull-matte finish such that the image portion becomes reflective and appears darker.

Embossed Characters per Line

The amount of characters per line is depedent on the size of the dogtag, dogtag orientation (i.e. rotated), Character Density CPI (Characters per Inch), & Start Position (i.e. closer to hole). Some of these settings can be changed under the Show Advanced Layout Options in Step 1 of the Dogtag Maker page.
