People with Alzheimer's disease and other types of dementia can become lost and confused in certain situations and may have trouble asking for help or communicating.
Help keep them safe with a set of dogtags they can wear on their neck, wrist, or keychain containing the contact information of loved ones.
Military veterans with dementia are often eager to wear dogtags as a form of emergency ID since they are used to wearing them from their days in the service. The dogtags often bring back positive memories of comradery and brotherhood with their military buddies.

How our dogtags helped a veteran with dementia
My elderly, veteran husband is stumbling down the path of dementia and has taken to wandering. GPS enabled units are costly to get and maintain and too large to wear or keep comfortably. This is a simple solution, and he is comfortable wearing it. Just yesterday he slipped out of the house without his wallet and I received a call from the local fire department. Hubby did not know his address or telephone number, but this tag provided his condition and contacts to emergency responders and he was re-united quickly. Prior to use of the MyDogtag, EMTs have taken him to the emergency room, because he appears confused. Although this is not a perfect solution, it is a great tool to have in your tool chest for dementia / Alzheimer's loved ones.
Medical ID Format
Although there is no defined format, we suggest that you consider using some of the above medical advice on your tags. Note that no guarantee or warranty of any medical or emergency services is expressed or implied.
Medical ID Necklace vs Bracelet
You do not have to rely on only a medical alert bracelet to convey important medical information as first responders are also trained to look for a medical alert necklace. We offer you the choice of wearing your medical tag however you prefer! Choose from a ballchain necklace, keyring, wire cable, even a leather cuff bracelet, or paracord survival bracelet. Our fully custom medical ID dog tags and fasteners give you the flexibility to create a medical alert tag that works for your needs.
